DELTA UPS SYSTEMS AT FIVE STADIUMS AT THE WORLD CHAMPIONSHIP IN RUSSIA

After everything went well and when all the emotions and fame about the second most important thing in the world - football - have died down, it is appropriate to boast about one of the most successful stories of Delta Electronics, related to the recent world football championship in Russia.

Delta has announced that this year's World Cup uninterruptible power supply systems have been implemented in five football stadiums in Russia. The power capacity of 3 megawatts of DELTA UPS devices provided the football field's sound power supply and emergency lighting, broadcasting and data transmission, as well as security systems in the five stadiums. Wide use of Delta's range of UPS devices, by government and private entities in Russia, as well as its superior technological features, such as leading AC-AC efficiency of up to 96%, were key factors in achieving this important milestone.

Victor Cheng, Delta's vice president and general manager of the information and communication technology business group, said – “Delta congratulates Russia as the host of the 2018 FIFA World Cup. We are extremely pleased that our state-of-the-art UPS systems support an infrastructure that delivers an exciting, safe and environmentally friendly environment for facilities that host major sporting events, including the five stadiums that hosted this year's FIFA World Cup."

Within the five football stadiums, 1.2 MW of Delta UPS power capacity supported the football fields and emergency lighting, more than 1.5 MW maintained key infrastructure such as common lighting and emergency lighting systems. fire protection, and about 300 kW of support for surveillance and data transmission equipment.
In two stadiums, three-phase Ultron DPS, with a capacity of up to 500kVA, with highly flexible and scalable power architectures from 20kVA to 120kVA, provided resilient backup power for several applications, including fire protection systems, automatic fire extinguishers, alarms and more.

In another stadium, a 400kVA three-phase Ultron UPS provided the stadium's lighting network, indoor private and common areas, and emergency lighting.
Other HPH series UPS systems were installed in all five stadiums to meet the specific requirements of providing reliable power to the emergency notification systems and fire protection infrastructure.
A single-phase Delta UPS system from the Amlon RT series, with a capacity of 1kVA to 10kVA, was installed to support the communication networks, databases and office equipment at all five stadiums.

Delta's Critical Infrastructure Solutions Business Unit (MCISBU) provides customers with world-class UPS systems as well as fully integrated data center infrastructure solutions such as power management, precision cooling, environmental management systems and more, to enable eco-friendly data centers. These solutions continue to expand their reach and prestige in the Europe, Middle East and Africa (EMEA) region. For example, Atos, a global leader in digital transformation based in Spain, used Delta modular UPS solutions to protect their data center. In addition, Delta has provided significant savings for a web hosting company in Berlin serving a German shopping website by integrating Delta InfraSuite modular UPS systems, RowCool energy-saving precision cooling and smart power distribution into their capacities. Delta is also the power behind the world's largest fast food restaurant in France and a German luxury car brand.

The Ultron DPS Series UPS 160-500kVA is a three-phase, double-conversion system with IGBT rectifier technology to achieve class-leading AC-AC efficiency of up to 96%. The best current protection with ideal power and economy can be achieved by implementing the Delta UPS monoblock Ultron HPH series, which offers great adaptability from 20kVA to 120kVA with full rated power (kVA = kW) and AC-AC efficiency up to 96%. Amtraon RT Series UPS offers wide power capability up to 10kVA, 1 + 1 parallel redundancy, high power input factor above 0.99 and low iTHD <5%. These features provide ideal power protection for high-density servers, network equipment and entire data centers.
